Georgia Steeplechase 14 pictures

I had the opportunity to attend The Georgia Steeplechase in Rome, GA. for the first time.

Imagine a marriage between the Kentucky Derby and southern football tailgating. It was a spectacular event. Themed tents, bold chapeaus and Dapper Dans are just part of the festivities. Oh yes, and there's the main attraction for the whole event...horse racing.

The day was cold and windy. Rain was predicted. Thankfully, during our time at the event, we only had to contend with cold and wind.

No rivalry as our Red Hat members partook of the delicious food offerings, be it under the Alabama tent...

or the Auburn tent.
There was a third neutral tent. Three of the chapter's husbands were gracious enough to drive us to and from the event, set up tents and assist in whatever way possible. All of this without any complaints. The epitome of patience.

Here are some of the themed tents

More, but I'm ending it here.
