NO-Knead Rosemary Bread

 NO-Knead Rosemary Bread

I've never made any type of bread that involved yeast. Cornbread

Rosemary plant
and cupcakes have usually been my limit. Even then I cheat and use mix although I once did make cornbread from scratch eons ago.

No-Knead Rosemary Bread by Emily Fabulous

The picture of the artisan bread on  Food Talk Daily done by Emily Fabulous  sparked my interest. The clue word "easy," made me want to try it.  I have a rosemary plant growing in a pot outside. Flour, salt, yeast, rosemary, water. (see recipe below)

The smoke alarm went off πŸ˜² when I opened the oven. I had to fan it with a folder and turn on the ceiling fan to stop it.
But, at least I know it works.πŸ˜„

Ta da!🎜🎝 Not exactly like the original but a lacy looking loaf/round.

HOW DID IT TASTE?
It was chewy, hearty, rustic with a nice crust. I liked it.  It'll be good with soups, stews, spaghetti. After tasting it warm with butter, I wrapped the rest in freezer paper and put it in the freezer.
😁SUCCESS
What would I do differently?

Add more rosemary.
Knead the dough more
Allow the bread to brown more

That's it🍞🍞🍞

Jacob Lawrence- STRUGGLE: From the History of the American People

Jacob Lawrence- STRUGGLE: From the History of the American People

On exhibit now until  February 2021 at the Birmingham Museum of Art, is the work of Jacob Lawrence.

Lawrence's innovative work was to consist of 60 panels depicting the struggles in American history from the American Revolution to World War I. In the end there were 30 panels. Lawrence's abstract, cubist works gives his impression of the "myths" of American history. He includes the contributions of people of color lest they be erased and omitted from history.

The Library
Jacob Lawrence 1960
Research was done by the artist at the 135th Street Branch of the New York Public library. Lawrence was constantly in the eye of the FBI because of his social and political views regarding America freedom.

Margaret Cochran Corbin is portrayed to the left with a pistol in her belt and ready to (wo)man the cannon after her cannoneer husband was mortally wounded.
Representatives of the 13 original colonies debate deeply and profusely on the meaning of the Preamble to the Constitution and how it will be executed.  The seven swords represent the seven states ready to ratify the Constitution.  Choosing not to display a  "happily-ever-after" ending Lawrence displays conflict in which enslaved Americans gained neither freedom, citizenship or the right to vote.

The Burr–Hamilton duel is one of the most famous personal conflicts in American history. It was a pistol duel which arose from long-standing personal bitterness and political that developed between the two men over the course of several years. Tension rose with Hamilton's journalistic defamation of Burr's character over a long period of time. (Wikipedia)
President Jefferson encourages explorers Lewis & Clark to treat the Native Americans with mutual respect. Sacajawea (in red), the translator for Lewis & Clark  is reunited with her brother, Shoshone Chief Cameahwait who she has not seen since childhood. Sacajawea's raveling braid indicates the undoing of relations between the Natives and white American oppression.
In 1956 Birmingham, Alabama opened the
Booker T. Washington library later renamed the Smithfield Library.
I know this library well, as it was the one I used during my elementary years 1960-?) for much of my schoolwork. Since I lived in the area I could walk to the library. Later my parents bought a set of encyclopedias which cut back on a lot of travel and time doing research.
Ms. Reba Williams is now head librarian at the Smithfield Library. Scan the code for recommended readings by Ms. Williams.

DID IT WORK?

Have you ever tried to put lotion on your back without help? There are some devices out there that try to help.

NEXT>>>>>>>>>
Finally>>>
The latest I've tried is a wooden spatula from Dollar Tree. The spatula is flat on both sides. I put a little lotion on it and rub it on my back.  Afterwards, I spray it with alcohol and it dries fast. I placed the brown ribbon through the hole to hang it up.  It WORKS 😊for me.

How about this?>>>

I was inspired by a bracelet on Etsy that I thought I'd try my hand at.
😞😩Shame

I've always admired beautifully shaped eyebrows. If eyes are the windows to the soul, then eyebrows must be their awnings.  Eyebrows assist in  conveying expressions and thoughts. Some people are fortunate to have naturally shaped eyebrows and there are those who can sculpture what they have using  products.

Results are not always successful.

My brows are not naturally shaped. I decided to try the product below.

Oyster Cracker Snacks

At one time I had car insurance with Farm Bureau. They would send out  Neighbors  magazine quarterly with information and news on farming. In the back of the magazine there were always recipes from a featured cook along with several of her recipes. I'd cut out the ones I wanted to try and tape or glue them inside a spiral notebook.

Alabama Firecrackers

Dill weed was not included. 3 oz. for $3.39 was a bit pricey.

Peanut Butter Cream Pie using a new hand mixer

Last month's birthday produced well wishes in the form of greeting cards, gift cards and special phone calls. All appreciated by this recipient.

With a  couple of the gift cards I purchased a new hand mixer.

It came with the attachments below.

The chances of me making bread or using the milk shake attachment is pretty slim. I usually use a blender for  whirling and whirring liquids around.  The twisted wire beaters will be the most often used.
There's a storage case that attaches to the bottom of the mixer to keep all of the attachments together. I like that. The mixer even boasts that it can rest on the rim of the mixing bowl without tilting over.  I'll  see about that.
Peanut Butter Cream Pie
The recipe is listed as ??Prize Peanut Cheesecake
but I was told this is a misnomer because it isn't baked like a traditional cheesecake and the filling doesn't contain eggs. I'm willing to concede to modern standards so that's why I'm calling it Peanut Butter Cream Pie. Why quibble?πŸ™„

* Correction: The recipe on the LEFT...

1. Gather the ingredients.
2. Cream together cream cheese and peanut butter.
3. Put peanut butter jar in microwave to melt it and get my money's worth.😏 After all I paid for the peanut butter that's at the bottom of the jar and that sticks to the sides of the jar.
4. Fold in the whipped topping.

SCREECH>>>>>>
The mixer WILL stand on the rim of the bowl without toppling over. πŸ‘

5.  The prepared  (store bought) graham cracker pie shell
6. The filling is poured into the pie shell.
7. The pie is covered and allowed to set.
8. A slice of peanut butter pie.
DeliciousπŸ˜‹

beginning at the upper left: cover container with tissue paper. Tear up pieces of construction paper and add like a mosaic. Outline with black marker. Dry brush with black paint. Spray both with water soluble lacquer.  Stick on ornamentation.

Close up--  Bottom container has no mosaic.

With potted plant.
