Grave Matters

Everybody has skeletons in their closet but, some people have a cemetery***

You've seen those small cemeteries with ancient looking grave markers. I've always wondered about its occupants and why they're in the middle of such an obscure place. There may be an entire community built around them with the cemetery neatly kept or a tangle of grass and weeds. I pass this cemetery on my way to work. I've always wondered about it, so one day I stopped and took these pictures. The community of Twin Lakes is built around it. The general area is known as Centerpoint.

This small cemetery located in a lot between two occupied homes.
I was able to find out some information here Who these people are and why.

WHY DON'T THEY MOVE IT?There's a lot involved when it comes to moving a cemetery.

Archaeologists must be called in if it has historical value. Descendants must be notified to get permission to move the grave. Whatever remains remain (say that 3 times fast) must be placed in another box most often smaller than the original. A lot of red tape and money.
*****
I've heard there's another cemetery behind Howard Johnson's in Homewood. To my understanding it is a slave cemetery. I'll check it out in the future.
THAT'S IT***

Baby Steps

BABY STEPS because I actually did some sewing.

Tuesday , October 20th was opening night for The Color Purple here . I'd determined that I would buy something new in purple in keeping with the theme. I was pleased with this outfit I found . The only problem was that I needed to hem the pants. I did that while I was watching TV one night.

More later.

Tell the World

As I was traveling to Dad's house the other day, I came across this little gem.
Pay special attention to the poster at the bottom.

I'd say someone's a tad pissed off.
For those here In Birmingham, Alabama it is at the corner of Lomb Avenue and Bessemer Road.
